Set in an idyllic orchard with it’s own jetty, Bronte House is a 2 for 1. The main house to the West with a covered deck linking it to a smaller separate residence under the same roofline.

Bronte House

Located on the shores of the Waimea Inlet in Tasman, Bronte House is a contemporary lifestyle residence designed to engage directly with its coastal setting. The home sits lightly above its own pond, complete with a timber jetty for swimming and recreation, creating a seamless connection with the landscape.

Built from low-maintenance, hard-wearing materials such as aluminium weatherboards, the house is designed for longevity in the coastal environment. Sustainable principles underpin the project, including an integrated mechanical fresh air ventilation system that ensures comfort and energy efficiency throughout the seasons.

The site’s ecological restoration formed a key part of the design response, with over 12,000 native plants and shrubs establishing a thriving natural habitat around the home. Together, the architecture and landscape create a resilient, enduring retreat that reflects its place within it’s environment.
