Growing up around building sites was where Nick first interacted with architecture and construction. Raised in a delightfully designed home dreamed up by his father and built by his grandfather in the 80’s was also part of the foundation that drew him to the profession. Through study at The University of Auckland and travel throughout Europe his passion grew as he swooned over architectural icons such as the Pantheon in Rome, Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion and Daniel Libeskind’s Jewish Museum in Berlin.
After beginning his career in Auckland, Nick moved to sunny Nelson in 2010 and worked for 6 years for local firms before coming on board with Redbox Architects in 2017. Appointed a Director and Shareholder in 2022 Nick now leads the team alongside Justin and Brad. He sees architecture as a way to enrich people’s lives and bring delight to our built environment. His designs embrace sustainable principles and endeavour to ‘touch the earth lightly’, a phrase coined by Pritzker Prize winning architect, Glenn Murcutt.
Outside of the office, Nick enjoys spending time with his young family and getting out and about across our beautiful region. He is a keen golfer and sailor, and tries to get up the mountain snowboarding as much as he can in the winter.

Brad became a director of Redbox Architects in 2022, bringing with him over a decade of architectural experience and a reputation for technical precision. His strength lies in resolving complex planning arrangements and ensuring that each project is grounded in smart, buildable solutions.
Since childhood, he has been inspired by architecture, guided by the vision of designing homes that offer more than shelter, but a true sense of place and belonging.
With a calm and practical mindset, Brad plays a key role in bridging between concept to reality—translating design intent into clear, coordinated outcomes. His collaborative approach and deep technical knowledge make him a trusted lead on projects of all scales.
Outside the office, Brad is a dedicated family man. When he’s not spending time with his young son, you’ll likely find him on the squash court or enjoying a good coffee in the sunshine.

As the only ‘born and bred’ Nelsonian in the office, Pete brings a unique local perspective—and a healthy dose of hometown pride—to every project. With a background in the arts, his creative journey naturally evolved into architecture, where he blends artistic sensitivity with practical design.
Outside the studio, Pete is usually found running or biking the trails or exploring the outdoors with his family. Whether riding a ridge-line or resolving a complex detail, Pete's love for nature and thoughtful design always informs the work he does.

Arrun joined Redbox Architects in 2024, bringing with him a strong foundation in both technical drawing and construction. Taking an alternative path into architecture, he completed a degree in spatial design before travelling overseas, where he drew inspiration from the vernacular architecture of South and West Asia. Settling in Nelson, he went on to spend seven years in the construction industry, becoming a qualified carpenter along the way. This experience gives him a rare blend of creative thinking and practical know-how, and a deep understanding of buildability and the realities of construction, which he brings to every project.
Known for his grounded approach and technical mindset, Arrun produces detailed, well-resolved documentation that bridges concept and construction.
Outside the office, he is a busy father of three young children. When he’s not with his family, he’s likely training for his next long-distance trail run, developing film, chasing the elusive 20lb tāmure, or contributing to his community as a member of the local school Board of Trustees.
